A former federal employee, Dave has over 43 years experience in manufacturing and mechanical design and concurrently, over 45 years of training experience. A graduate apprentice machinist, machine shop and classroom instructor, he is also an experienced toolmaker and component designer. His supervisory experience in, and understanding of, both the manufacturing and design arenas provide a unique and ready source of knowledge from which students may draw. His plain language presentation style invariably results in high ratings from those attending his Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing seminars. In addition to training, Dave has extensive experience as a design coach, helping engineers apply GD&T correctly. Professional activities include membership on several national standards committees (Y14.5.2, Y14.8, and Y14.5 Support Group, Y14 Main Committee), former member of the B1.1 and 1.9 committees as well as a former alternate to the Y14.5 committee.
