Simultaneous Requirements Model Kit

By pulling the shaft apart you may illustrate how the pair of flats is centered on the datum axis and the key seat is centered on the datum axis.  With the shaft assembled you can change the orientation of the flats to the key seat. This is useful to explain that there are times when a relationship between these features is necessary and other times where it is not that critical and the rule of simultaneous requirements may be relaxed.
